ENVELIA FORMULATION CHARTER.
Every Envelia formula is engineered with precision. We select only essential active ingredients—each one validated for leather, suede, mesh, or synthetic materials. No filler. No fragrance. No compromise.

A closer look at our formulation charter.
We always err on the side of caution. When we choose our raw materials, two factors must be taken into account: their impact on health and on the environment. As a result, our ingredient blacklist is one of the strictest on the market.
All our formulas are 100% made in France and vegan. Our Research & Development laboratory works with our in-house engineers and chemists, as well as partner laboratories across the country. As a French brand, we comply with stringent European product safety regulations.
We refuse silicones—they clog leather pores and cause long-term cracking. We ban petroleum-based solvents—they degrade materials over time. Every ingredient is selected for purpose.
4 minutes to understand your sneakers. Our diagnostic guides you toward the ideal protocol for your materials. Leather, suede, mesh—each requires specific care.
Formulation principles.
Four principles govern every formulation decision. No exceptions.
- Necessity: Each ingredient must serve a function. No fragrance additives. No colorants. No marketing compounds. If it does not contribute to cleaning, protection, or stability, it is excluded.
- Material Specificity: Leather pH differs from suede. Mesh requires different surfactant structures than canvas. We formulate for the substrate, not for a generic 'shoe'. Each solution addresses specific material chemistry.
- Precaution: When scientific literature indicates potential harm—to materials, to users, or to environment—we exclude. Our blacklist exceeds European regulatory requirements. Silicones, petroleum solvents, phthalates: removed.
- Documentation: Every ingredient list published. Every active compound explained. Every pH level specified. Opacity serves marketing. Transparency serves users.
Ingredients we refuse to use – and why.
These are the main criteria we look at when we consider whether to ban an ingredient from being used in our products.
CMR substances
Certain chemicals, when used alone or in mixtures, can be harmful to human health. Some have carcinogenic, mutagenic, or reprotoxic effects that we refuse to expose our customers to.
Endocrine disruptors
These substances can interfere with the hormonal system and cause adverse developmental, reproductive, neurological, and immune effects in both humans and wildlife.
Environmental pollutants
We refuse to use ingredients that are harmful to aquatic ecosystems or the environment. This includes microplastics and substances that do not biodegrade properly.
